Asio flammeus

I saw a sizable congregation of 30-40 individuals at Khamda near Chaukul (Amboli). This could be a vagrant population en route to its destination. It seemed that group was roosting at this place for few days as the place of roost seemed to be in use (we spotted on 2 days), with surrounding grass curved on both sides to create a kind of tunnel. Attempts to locate it in subsequent years around the same time were not successful.
