We were watching Malabar Pied Hornbill nest for long time on this same tree. One sunday morning when we went there we found some branches cut by locals. Asking about it, we were informed that entire tree will be cut for commercial purpose. We somehow managed to convince them by offering some money. This was sometime in 2014/15. Tree has survived till now. And we saw hornbills and other birds breeding on same tree in 2018. Hole in which this parakeet was breeding was last year occupied by Rose-ringed Parakeets. Young ones in the picture flew away after 4/5 days.
