Lanius cristatus

Adult male has uniform rufous brown upper parts and darkish brown crown. Broad black band mask through eye white brow over. Pale creamy underparts washed buff, rufous flanks, rufous tail, brown wings. Female has less contrast and faint scalloping on underparts. Immature has stronger scalloping on underparts. Solitary in open or tree stumps and returns to same perch repeatedly.
